It can be nerve-racking to finally meet other people who feel the same as you do. It helps if you can get someone to go along with you, perhaps someone who is also going there for the first time. There are several places where you can meet other gay, lesbian and bisexual people.
- The internet is a good place to start.
- Go to a party or a café for gay, lesbian and bisexual people. Check on the internet for addresses. PANN parties (straight-friendly gay parties) are popular among young people in the Netherlands.
- Participate in activities for gay and lesbian people. Call or email the Gay & Lesbian Switchboard for activities in your area.
